For most, Stephanie Torres is considered a healthy eater, preferring the soup and salad of bacon and roast beef.

Sometimes it will take a small diversion to eat healthy and plunge into serious abuse - something she will when she competes Monday hot dogs annual eating contest in Brooklyn, NY, which is broadcast on ESPN.

His unusual hobby of eating has become legendary last December when she ate 18 pounds of hamburgers in 10 minutes in a food challenge in San Diego.

She then took the Cavalier four to one half-pound burger made with grilled jalapeños, serrano peppers, peppers ghost (Naga Jolokia the dreaded) and jalapeño Jack cheese, plus a sprinkling of habanero sauce - Chunky Burgers in San Antonio.

"Nobody believed that I really did because I was so quiet when I eat," says Torres just as quietly.

It's the same hamburger Adam Richman Travel Channel's "Man v. Food" ended in tears within 25 minutes.

Yet that's what the little 5-foot, 105 pounds graduate student working on her MBA at New Mexico State University is April 23 in Las Vegas that led to a seat at the table at Coney Island in Brooklyn.

She qualified for 10 minutes, all-you-can-eat contest by eating 23 hot dogs in 10 minutes to a qualification in Las Vegas.

Torres will compete in the fourth annual international famous Nathan of July Hot Dog Eating Contest.

This year is the first time men and women will compete separately for the title of Hot Dog Eating Champion Men's World Women and Hot Dog Eating World Champion, and a purse with $ 10 000 for each division.
